About

I started This Free Bird in the spring of 2010 as a way to keep in touch with my family. Then it turned into this weird thing where I took pictures of what I was wearing. Why? I don’t know. Probably because I was reading too many other blogs.

In late 2012, after a period of extreme stress, I had a stroke. When I got on a plane to go home a month later I wasn’t even sure I’d make it. After I arrived (alive) I spent a lot of time looking at photo albums realizing I wasn’t in very many pictures from the past 10 years, and feeling pretty bad about it. I’m not sure how I feel about blogging anymore, but I do know I’d like to have a record of my life in pictures and words. In case anything ever happens to me again and I can’t remember things about my life, I hope this will be my reminder.

The real deal: I live in jeans and t-shirts, collect boots and moccasins, and would rather be riding my bike. I love cats, chips and salsa, and spicy cucumber margaritas. This is my life and I’m so grateful for it.

What I do

In my off blog hours (meaning most of the time) I’m a freelance Executive Recruiter working in the retail/wholesale and consumer spaces. Truth be told, I feel very fortunate to have a job I love working with super creative people from brands I love. If you have a talent need, feel free to drop me a line and let’s talk. That being said this is a place for my personal life and thoughts, and not somewhere you’ll hear about the finer points of tracking people down.
